So I was poking around the PopMech website earlier tonight, and was really disappointed with the content they had available (like I have been since I was about 16), and it got me wondering about what magazines we all read. I generally don't bother with PopMech or PopSci, but I will pick them up if I am (Cthulhu forbid) stuck in a waiting room without a book. Of course, I'll gravitate to a National Geographic way before either of those if it's available.
So, what magazines do/would you subscribe to, if you had the time and money to read them? At home, I get Chemical & Engineering News (part of an ACS membership), Annals of Improbable Research, and Microscopy & Analysis (which usually goes in the pile untouched), and if I had the time/money I'd start getting Maximum PC again (despite the rehashing of articles every three-four months), and National Geographic. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting, but I thought I'd throw this out and see what crops up.

Re: Magazines
I'm not really a magazine person, I prefer to get it all online, but I do love the IEEE Spectrum and Make magazines that my dad gets.

Re: Magazines
Servo, Robot, Nuts&Volts, Electric Radio, Make, Home Power, Extraordinary Technology, QST, CQ, Whatever "Audio Amateur" is calling themselves now I can never for some reason recall the name, a couple of home machinist mags, five car mags and two or three others from national and international organizations I belong to.
At work I receive EDN, Electronic Design, NASA Tech Briefs, Machine Design, Military&Aerospace Electronics, and several others that currently escape me.
I would rather read a magazine or catalog in the printed form than do so on line, unfortunately more and more has to br read on line.

Re: Magazines
Until this moment I'd never really bothered to "read" a magazine as it were. Upon close examination the only magazines in my office simply say "Glock - Austria" on them.
I read massive amounts of stuff online, but aside from the occasional giveaway thing (I keep seeing DV magazines appear at random) I don't get any magazines. I *think* we get Live Sound, but that's a Mikey thing.
Catalogs, now that's a different story. Own a business and EVERYONE wants to send you catalogs. The Lab Safety Supply one is like Geek Porn. I have to have TWO subscriptions for the Sweetwater one or there are fights, the B&H one has replaced Penthouse in my world.

Re: Magazines
I read High Frequency Electronics, which is a free (ad supported) magazine on microwave and RF topics. It often has some interesting stuff. I also get IEEE Spectrum as part of my IEEE membership, but I don't usually read it.

Re: Magazines
I love Rangefinder. It's a photography industry magazine geared towards wedding and portrait photographers (it's printed by WPPI.)
because here, the sky really is orange.

Re: Magazines
I don't read any print magazines, but if I did, they'd be on the subject of making shiny metal tubes full of self-loading cargo go through the air at high speeds.

Re: Magazines
I get the National locksmith and powerlineman magazine. I like the Smithsonian, National Audubon and almost any Science and Nature type magazine.
