We would like to thank everybody for attending the Maker Faire in Austin, TX, over the weekend of October 20-21. It was a fantastic success!
The Geek Group was represented by members from many parts of the country. In attendance were:
Texas: Joe DiPrima, Oliver Greaves, Tony Smith, John DiPrima, Craig Newswanger, Pat Sullivan, Seven Sexton and Maida Barbour
Michigan and Indiana: Daniel DeHaan, Nick Miller, Scott Coppersmith, Adam Knight and Lis Bokt
Oklahoma: Dale Gibson, Sam McFadden, Ross Moffet and Myah Savage
We also had two projects on display from members who were unable to attend - the GeekFusor was built by Mike Veldman of Oklahoma and the Wimshurst Machine was built by Todd Lindberg of Michigan.

The Geek Group was set up in a large part of the Event Barn, in an area dubbed the "Tesla Theatre". The main attraction was a pair of Musical Tesla Coil built by members of the Austin Chapter. It was accompanied by the Pipe Organ built by Craig Newswanger. |
| Every performance drew a spectacularly large crowd. The coils are quite large - they could easily be heard anywhere in the Event Barn. A signal tone before each performance drew people from all over. |

The event was captured on video and in still images by own our crew. We were also interviewed by several different crews, and countless people took photographs. |
| Along with the Tesla Coils, there were several smaller displays on hand. The Geek Fusor was popular, as well as the Wimshurst Machine, plasma globes, and a wooden laptop built by Nick Miller. |
