String Construction

Legions of people worked for days without sleep to solder the 1000 capacitors together with 1000 safety-bleeder resistors to hundreds of bolts and washers and various bits of plastic.

But the only person who did it on camera was Paul. Proper credit where it's due, EVERYONE soldered their fair share (and then some) of caps. Such an epic of soldering hasn't been seen since Mark Broker himself sat at the Little St apartment and soldered nearly nonstop for 2 days to build the Groups first MMC array (and curse Chris's design). And Austin Williams. You can't forget Austin Williams. Austin Williams who put more than half of the resistors in place so that Paul could solder them together, and then when Paul didn't have time to do so, learned to solder specifically for the purpose of completing the MMC array, Spending a week and a half of his spare time soldering more than three quarters of the capacitors and resistors in place.

But the only one we got a photograph of, was Kidwell. Ya gotta love that shirt though. Over the course of several days of soldering that tote on the floor next to Paul was slowly filled with string after string of caps. Eventually we had 100 of them in there and the tote was too heavy for a single person to lift.

That's a lot of caps.
